CHARACTER INFO
Character Name: Hana Song ❝D.VA❞
Age: 19
Canon: Overwatch

World Description: Here's about Overwatch and some history

History: D.VA Wiki

Death: Hana will be arriving shortly after self-destructing her meka, Tokki, to defend Busan from the last remaining Gwinshin omnic. She falls into the water after ejecting and destroying her mech. She'll be taken from that point of time, though the cinematic does show she did not come out as "unscathed" as the media liked to say. She ended up with a broken leg and arm, and some scratches and bruises. So she more than likely got them during her attempt to finish of the Gwinshin.

Here's the Shooting Star cinematic for reference if needed.

What are your plans for this character in-game? Hana is very goal orientated and she'll be determined to try to find a way out of death (good luck). When she realizes getting out won't be that easy, she'll just try to make sure every one is okay. When things aren't crazy when she has spare time & parts, she's definitely interested in rebuilding her mech somehow.

What aspects of this game and/or its setting are you most interested in having this character engage with? Honestly? I just really love this game so far and have wanted to play Hana somewhere again. I also look forward to having a character who's more upbeat and willing to welcome people in her life. I love Akechi, but god damn does he not trust anyone.

How does your character generally get along with other people? Hana is outgoing, cocky, confident, and stubborn, but she loves to meet new people. I think she'd fit in really well with the others.

What is your character's mental state upon entering the game? When Hana arrives to Beacon, she'll be feeling really bad. Not just because of her injuries, but because she's so worried about if the Gwinshin will attack again. What will happen if she's not there to defend Busan and the others are still out of commission. There's a lot of guilt because she knows that a lot of people were counting on her to make sure everyone is safe and out of harm's way.

You can also see this concern in the cinematic linked above in the death section. She does show that she's taking on too much burden by herself and that she's not willing to ask for help until she has no other choice.

Skills/Abilities: A lot of her abilities mech related. At some point, I do want her to be able to remake it eventually as time goes by.

Light Gun
Hana doesn't have a lot abilities outside of her mech. Thankfully her blaster has pretty fast bullet speed and reaches pretty far. It will also be her primary weapon while she's at Beacon.

Boosters
In the game, she is able to reach hard to reach locations for a short amount of time. If you go by the cinematic that was linked, it seems that there's no limit on how long she can use it; It wouldn't make sense if it did in retrospect in a cinematic or game setting either. It allows her to fly around as needed, up until they take damage or something that keeps them from working. I would prefer if that's not nerfed to fly up until a circumstance like that happens if possible, but I understand if it has to be for some reason.

Fusion Blasters
Her mech is equipped with two short ranged cannons that rotate and fire continuously without having to reload. They do significant damage up close, but they also slow her down a bit. They are the primary weapons on her mech.

Micro Missiles
She does have explosive missiles in her arsenal when she has her mech. She's also able to use them while firing her Fusion Blasters or while using her Boosters. It allows her to go after her targets. Cinematic related, they were used to take out half of the Gwinshin that showed up within a week over a month than predicted. For game purposes, I'd love to have them, but she probably wouldn't have that many available all the time.

Defense Matrix
She has a defensive ability that allows her to soak up some damage and negate it. It's pretty powerful and can even stand up against a high damage ultimate (I.E. Dead Eye, part of Tactical Visor, Graviton Surge, Blizzard..... you name it.). Anything that's projectile based can be absorbed. The drawback is that she cannot keep it on indefinitely and it does have a limit to it in the game. For the sake of the game, I also think it would be more fair to keep some sort of limit on it (though maybe not as short as in the game).

Eject
An ability where she.. well... ejects from her mech. It's never really intentional and not something you can control unless you use it for her ultimate skill. Generally it's an ability that happens when your mech is destroyed.

Self-Destruct
This is her ultimate ability in the game. She can send her mech into a fight to self-destruct at the proper time. This is due to the mech's reactor overloading, causing it to explode. It also shows up in the cinematic near the end (and her "death" following shortly after it).

If we talk about game mechanics, mechs seem to appear out of nowhere over time. It could happen due to your mech being destroyed or throwing in your ultimate. After a while you can get it back with a press of a button on her glove cuff.

From a RP game standby, this would be absolutely broken and I don't intend on having her use it unless she absolutely has to. The cinematic especially drives that home. From the beginning of the video where she's working on her mech and there are clear signs of the battle from before to the end where she's in the process of remaking her mech, it shows that it takes her a decent amount of time to reconstruct the mech and it's likely to show up out of thin air; not unless she had an extra one on hand somehow (which wouldn't be a bad idea eventually).

All of that would depend on if she even had time to make one, much less a spare one. Back home it seemed to be put back together fairly quickly, but it will probably take a lot longer here due to maybe not having everything she needs right away.

The TLDR; version:

Because it take forever to reconstruct a fully functioning mech, she is definitely likely to use this willy nilly and it would have to be a last resort kind of situation to make her do it. I don't plan on using it to much, if at all.

Call Mech
Her final ability is pretty straight forward. Going back to the scenario where she has spare mechs made in standby in the game, she has a button on the cuff of her glove to call it into play.

This would only come into play if that were the case, but if it happened, it would be after a long period of time. It would all depend on what resources she can find here to recreate her mech to have any spares.

Flaws/Weaknesses: Although it's possible to be just as skilled with a competitive spirit, it could also be your undoing at times. She tends to get in way over her head and become a bit reckless until it's a bit too late to back out without repercussions. She tries her best to be a good sport when she loses, but let's face it... It's hard for her from time to time. Any gamer is prone to get easily irritated at some point. Because of that, she has a bit of a short fuse at times, but you tend to see it more when people comments on her age; Despite technically being a young adult.

She's a little slippery to hit outside of her mech, but she doesn't have too much to defend herself with in the game itself beside her light gun. She doesn't have any defining phobias besides maybe her worrying about not being able to be there to help defend Busan against omnic invaders again. She tends to push herself to her limits and if nothing..? Her phobia is more than likely failing to protect the people she cares about. It's not limited to people she knows, but also any innocent blood shed is something she'd beat herself up over in her mind.

I'm not sure if it would count as a phobia or weakness, but assuming that her home has been ravaged and she's joined MEKA to defend Busan against the Gwinshin, there's a very likely chance that her family were killed in the process at some point. If you can use that in some event, I say go for it!

Personality: Hana Song, otherwise known as D.VA in the competitive Starcraft world and her allies, can be a bit of a childish girl sometimes; but overall, she's a pretty outgoing person with a personality that shows off her gaming background as well as her competitive side.

Initially, she had no part in Overwatch, but with the second (possible) Omnic Uprising devastating her home, she rose to the occasion as soon as she could. Once the military offered her a position as a Mech Pilot in MEKA, Mobile Exo-Force of the Korean Army, she instantly threw away her esports career to rise to the call. All she's ever wanted was to save her home. If it means protecting what is precious to her, she will charge in without any fear -- and maybe a bit more reckless than she should be. When she visits Eichenwalde, she does note that she hopes that her homeland can also come back and slowly rebuilt over time. So in the end, she does know the ravages of war to some extent and would love to travel more often; The military doesn't allow her or the others to travel anywhere for leisure anymore, just in case there's an attack and they need to act fast to negate it.

In her free time, she enjoys playing a number of games, notably being the number one player in the Starcraft scene and getting quite a bit of fans as a result. She was also in an esports team for a game called Mecha Guardian V up until she was enlisted in the military. She has retired from competitive play as a result, but she does have the habit of quoting references from various games. That said, it goes without saying that she's very competitive. Being number one for so long at the at of 16 is quite a feat and it is bound to come with a competitive side. As a chain reaction to her competitive side, she also hates to lose at anything really (but who doesn't?). No matter how mad she gets, in the end she'll try her best to be a good sport about it.

She may not be in the competitive scene anymore, but she has started to stream her battlefield experiences. Though she streams live content that may be considered strange to your average viewer, her fans seem to really enjoy it. She's notably comfortable in the limelight -- if her live streams aren't enough to go by -- going as far as even starring in a movie called "Hero of My Storm".

As a side note, she also has a bit of dialog with Lucio, stating she's a big fan of his music; The feeling is mutuel between the two of them.

May it be because of protecting her home or just crushing some noobs in a game, she has always been a pretty goal orientated person. She strives to do what she can to protect her home and once she has her mind set on something, it's hard to change it; making her a bit stubborn and over all reckless from time to time. She tends to take on too many burdens, despite Dae-hyun trying to get her to understand that it's okay to ask for help sometimes.

She does tease others from time to time and responds back in a cheeky, childish way on occasion. One good example of this is some dialog that she had with Soldier: 76 when he says war isn't a game and she responds to him with, "Are you sure life isn't a game, Soldier: 76?". As much as she might tease, due to her outgoing and playful manner half of the time, she gets easily flustered from time to time. Those times usually result in childish comebacks.

That said her strengths are easily her confidence in herself as well as her desire to do her share for the world they live in now. Even in the most dire situations, she's more than willing to charge the front lines in her mech to protect those close to her and those who are in trouble. She doesn't seem to worry when things get tough and takes it as a challenge to beat whatever comes her way, thanks to her competitive spirit.

Being a skilled gamer has also made her a natural in her MEKA and peerless in her field. Though she has a nasty habit of sending her MEKA towards enemies to self destruct (and somehow has a good supply of them if you go by game logic, but is that really canon?), she seems to be as versatile and a bit slippery to hit outside of her MEKA, making her a tough target to hit.

Items: Hana doesn't have Tokki anymore, unfortunately, but she does still have her light gun and headset.
